The local church is more than just a congregational event that takes place on a Sunday. We see in the New Testament an emphasis on the “one another” ministries. It is the body of Christ present and serving in the everyday context of the members serving in community. Ministries focus on particular areas of focus addressing specific application of the Scriptures in maturing believers. This is important to us at Central because we believe in and celebrate the priesthood of all believers.
At Central we believe that children matter to God. We offer children's ministry not to replace family discipleship which we believe from scripture must be primary but we only supplement and come alongside parents in leading their children to Christ. All teachers and leaders are members of Central Baptist who will teach truth in fun creative ways to make lessons applicable and memorable.
2 Timothy "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."
Life is a ministry to teenagers in and around the Pretoria Central area. Our philosophy of ministry is discipleship where the Gospel is at the centre and relationships are the focus. So Friday nights comprise of small groups, games, themed nights, snacks and expository and topical preaching from the word of God. At Life we are ministering to teenagers who are part of the greater body of the local church. So as much as we can we encourage teenagers to get involved at one of our Sunday services and expose them to the church leadership and members.
Amplify is a ministry to teenagers. Our gatherings on Friday nights take place at 18:30. They are centred around small groups and discipleship to form a basis on the Gospel. We also enjoy community around snacks and games. Our ministry philosophy is to glorify God in spiritually developing youth so that they would have and build a dynamic relationship with: God and His Word, Fellow believers & Non-believers to share God’s love with them
Central looks to provide students with a place to find organic community founded in the truth of God’s Word, training on the spiritual disciplines and an environment to grow in the love for God which moves believers to love & serve others. Elders, together with our student ministry team that comprises of our interns will also look to shepherd the sheep that God leads into the church at Central through the preaching of God’s word, intentional fellowship and prayer.
Students meet every Wednesday night at 19:00 for our weekly Bible Study and prayer. Students mainly join the Sunday night fellowship at 18:00 with transport provided for both days.

Scripture is rich with examples of men who wholeheartedly loved and served God with all their minds, souls and strength. We gather as men for a time of fellowship and teaching from God’s Word to train men to godliness. The current format of the Ministry is that it meets for eleven months of the year on the fourth Saturday of each month. We have a good breakfast staring at 8am which is prepared by the Ministry Committee. This is followed by a speaker on a chosen topic and followed thereafter with interaction with those present.
1 Timothy "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
At Central Ladies, our desire is to fellowship with ladies of all ages and walks of life, as well as immerse ourselves in good, solid Biblical teaching revolving around an annual theme.
Our desire is to see women at Central Baptist connect with one another, form relationships and bonds, and begin discipling ladies, as the Scriptures instruct us. We strive to meet at least 5 times a year, every 2nd month, and invite various speakers, both from the church or guests from other churches, to share the Word of God to us, while also enjoying some food and fellowship.
Proverbs "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies."

The purpose of the worship ministry is to lead and assist the congregation in bringing glory to God by the singing of hymns and spiritual songs. At Central we take delight in worshiping and praising the Lord together with the body of Christ. Music alone does not define worship, but rather our response to God through our actions, thoughts and expressions .
The worship ministry includes the audiovisual department who take care of the technical needs related to our live and online services.
Colossians "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
At Central we are offering an opportunity for young people who have the desire to give a year of their lives to the Lord for ministry and growing in their understanding of the Word and exploring their suitability for ministry opportunity. The field is white for harvest, but the labourers are few. Our desire at Central Baptist Church is to send labourers into the world whether as full time ministers or working a secular job. They will be those who make who will in turn make other labourers as the Lord wills.
